Senior Vice President, Strategy and Operations, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and Qualcomm Investor Relations
Bill Davidson is senior vice president of strategy and operations for Global Market Development in Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. In this role, Davidson handles reporting and operations as well as executing on strategic global business initiatives. In addition, Davidson is senior vice president of investor relations where he serves as the primary liaison with the investment community and Qualcomm shareholders. Previously, Davidson was senior vice president of Firethorn Mobile, Inc., where he was head of sales and marketing. In this role, Davidson brought his extensive experience to promoting Firethorn products and services to retailers, and their partners, within the retail ecosystem. Prior to that, he was the senior vice president of global marketing and investor relations, where he provided leadership for Qualcomm’s marketing, investor relations and public relations’ efforts worldwide. Upon joining Qualcomm, he was the vice president of carrier relations for Qualcomm Internet Services. He worked closely with wireless service providers throughout the world to establish business opportunities based on Qualcomm’s wireless data technology and service offerings. Prior to joining Qualcomm in 2002, Davidson was the senior vice president of corporate affairs and carrier relations at Aether Systems, where he negotiated network carrier contracts and formed joint marketing agreements. While with Aether Systems, Davidson worked closely with financial and industry analysts, and was the principal company spokesperson for investor conferences and analyst briefings. Davidson has more than 25 years of experience in technical sales, marketing and general management roles in the telecommunications industry. He spent 13 years at Bell Atlantic that included substantial experience within the wireline business at New Jersey Bell, as well as serving subsequently as vice president of wireless data sales and marketing for Bell Atlantic Mobile. Davidson’s experience also included serving as vice president of commercial sales operations for GE Capital’s telecommunications financial services division. Davidson serves as a board member for CommNexus, CONNECT, the San Diego Police Foundation and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and is the board chair for the Institute for Communication Technology Management at USC. Additionally, he has served as secretary of the board of the Wireless Data Forum and as a member of the Executive Advisory Committee of the Wireless Internet Caucus within the Cellular Telephone Industry Association. He is regularly quoted as an expert in industry publications and has also been a guest speaker at Boston University, Harvard University and The Wharton School of Business.
