Tracy Bawtinheimer
Co-Chair, TEC4 Home Patient Advisory Committee; Patient Advocate, Patient Voices Network and Canadian HeartLife Foundation
Tracy graduated from the University of Victoria with a B.Sc. in Psychology. In 2013 she was diagnosed with heart failure caused by Cardiac Sarcoidosis, a rare inflammatory disease. Since then her career as Director, Learning & Development has been on hold and a passion for patient advocacy has become a focal point.
Based on her experiences, Tracy is a strong supporter of equal, standardized access to multidisciplinary care for all heart failure patients. She believes wholeheartedly in the power of patient self management in partnership with their medical team to improve quality of life.
She lives in Victoria, BC and is currently the Co-Chair of the TEC4Home Patient Advisory Committee, a heart health patient advisor at Royal Jubilee Hospital, and the BC HeartLife Champion for The HeartLife Foundation. She is a member of the Patient Voices Network, has spoken at Cardiology Grand Rounds in Victoria and has contributed to Cardiac Services BC projects.
