Susan Wishart

Sue Wishart is a Provincial Court Judge in Victoria B.C. She obtained her law degree from the University of Victoria in 1994 and a Master’s of Science degree from Queen’s University in 1990. Prior to her appointment to the bench in 2009 Sue was a partner in the law firm of McKimm and Wishart in Victoria. She practiced mainly in the area of criminal defence law and conducted cases at all levels of court. During her time as a lawyer Sue was very involved with the Canadian Bar Association including Chair of the criminal section in Victoria, an elected member of Provincial Council and an elected member of the Executive of the BC Branch of the CBA. As a Judge, she deals with criminal, family and small claims cases. Her duties also include reviewing, and where appropriate, approving various types of warrants. In 2015 Sue was President of the Provincial Court Judges’ Association of BC and served as a member of Judicial Council during that time.
