As the Manager of Vulnerability and Risk for the government of British Columbia, Sherry Rumbolt is responsible for managing a government-wide information security vulnerability and risk management framework. Her purview also includes assessing government’s overall compliance with information security policies and standards to identify and report deficiencies and to conduct follow-up security reviews to measure and report improvement. Her responsibility is to also proactively identify, analyze, and report on security risks in a rapidly changing and complex technical environment. Previously Sherry worked for the Department of National Defence for more than 21 years where she led efforts to enhance national security in the fields of encryption, network and security operations, security incident response, change management, investigations and forensics as well as classified network architecture and design.
