Senior Information Security Officer, CFB Esquimalt, Department of National Defence
Sherry Rumbolt is the Senior Information Security Officer at the Service Management Center in Esquimalt at the Department of National Defence (DND). In her current role Sherry leads the Information Systems Security Department for the Service Management Center, providing Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT) Security Advisory Services, Security Incident Management, Technical Security Oversight, EMSEC & TCI, Audit and Assurance, Education/Awareness and ISSO support to more than 118 Units.
Sherry previously served in the Canadian Armed Forces in IM/IT as well as security for 22 years. Sherry has held several security positions within the Government of British Columbia including Assistant Director of Vulnerability and Risk Management before moving back to DND in 2017.
Sherry is very passionate about educating future generations of Cybersecurity experts and spreading the word about the importance of Cybersecurity. She sits on several Boards of Directors for security including ISACA and Canadian Women in Cybersecurity.
Sherry holds several certifications in Cybersecurity including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
