Scott Scheferman

Principal Security Technologist, SentinelOne

Scott Scheferman draws from 20 years’ experience in the cyber-security industry in the Federal, DoD, SLED, Commercial and Technology sectors. He has assessed security risk for thousands of systems ranging from Satellite Control Systems to Enterprises containing over a million devices. He is an expert on risk (cyber, business, mission), threat landscape, security community, leadership and team-building, strategic messaging, public speaking and thought leadership.

Scott Scheferman is known particularly for his research, thought leadership and strategic guidance in the critical area of time advantage over the cyber adversary. Drawing from DoD cyber experience, as well as red/blue/purple teaming, and incident response leadership, his message is clear: The organization that is able to best outpace an adversary is the organization that finally gets to lean forward and focus on its mission. He argues that to do this, we must first get out of our own way, and approach the entire problem space from a new perspective, and more importantly, a new attitude.

Prior to joining SentinelOne as Principal Security Technologist, Scott Scheferman worked at FireEye, Mandiant and Cylance and was a cyber liaison to the NSA for a multi-billion dollar defense program. He is also known to have won the first DEF CON Badge Hacking Content. On a personal note, Scott is a music artist, Italian car aficionado and proud father.
