Phil White
Chief Technology Officer, BC Clinical and Support Services
Phil White is the Chief Technology Officer with BC Clinical and Support Services (BCCSS), which provides Information Technology services to the BC health authorities. He has twenty-one years of experience in healthcare IT in the province of BC.
Phil has held a number of IT positions, starting his IT career at one of the large Canadian banks in Toronto twenty-six years ago. He switched to healthcare at Kelowna General Hospital in 1997, where he began as a programmer/analyst. He has also worked in the networking, data centre and security space before moving into management roles. In 2010, Phil joined the Health Authority Shared Services Organization, which evolved into the current BCCSS.
As a service provider to the health authorities, cybersecurity is a large part of what BCCSS Technology Services does. Increasing threats, a move to “as-a-Service” models and an increasing need for interconnectivity drive complexity in the cybersecurity space.
Outside of work, Phil enjoys skiing, music, and spending time with his family.
