Pamela Snively is the Chief Data & Trust Officer at TELUS. She leads the teams responsible for AI governance, privacy, data ethics and data governance.

Pam actively participates in a number of national and international think-tanks and governance bodies related to AI, privacy and data governance. She is a sought-after global speaker, known for challenging other organizations to raise the bar on data ethics, AI literacy and governance. She has served as a Canadian delegate to the G7 Business Forum (B7), supporting the development of AI standards, and was a featured speaker at the United Nations’ ITU AI for Good Summit in Geneva. Pam serves as a Board member for the Information Accountability Foundation and on the Privacy and Data Advisory Committee for the Canadian Marketing Association. She is also a founding member and Chair of Canada’s Business Privacy Group, a working group made up of some of Canada’s leading privacy professionals and industry associations focused on building trust in Canada’s digital ecosystem and legislative regime.

Pam’s leadership has been recognized with prestigious awards including Women in AI’s 2025 Executive of the Year, 2025 CDAO AI Leader of the Year, the 2024 WXN Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, and the 2017 Ontario Bar Association’s Karen Spector Memorial Award for Excellence in Privacy Law.

Under Pam’s leadership, TELUS has emerged as a trailblazer and award-winner in the responsible and ethical use of AI and data. Recognizing that trust is essential for AI adoption, TELUS was the first telecom in Canada to sign the voluntary AI code of conduct introduced by the federal government in September 2023 and received the outstanding organization award from the Responsible AI Institute for the integration of responsible AI practices to foster trust and benefit society. TELUS made history in May 2024 by introducing the first chatbot in the world to be internationally certified in Privacy by Design (ISO 31700-1), substantiating the organization’s commitment to safeguarding privacy and advancing trustworthy data practices – a demonstration of leadership on a global scale.
