Martin Abrams has been a privacy innovator for nearly a quarter of century. Abrams is currently Executive Director and Chief Strategist at the Information Accountability Foundation, a non-profit formed to encourage information governance and innovation through research and education. Abrams was President of the Centre for Information Policy Leadership, and Vice President Information Policy at Experian. For the past five years he has led the Global Accountability Project which has refined the accountability principle that is part of various data protection laws and guidance documents. His work has ranged from taking a values approach to privacy, to readable privacy notices, accountability based governance, and big data privacy governance. He has been deeply involved in the development of APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules and has organized privacy conferences and workshops in Asia, Latin America, Australia, North America and Europe.
