Joanne Gardiner
Manager, FOIP Services, Service Alberta
Joanne Gardiner is the Manager of FOIP Services in the Policy and Governance Branch of Service Alberta. She is responsible for the Corporate FOIP and PIPA team and is the department’s FOIP Coordinator. Joanne’s educational background is in Science and Computer Sciences. She joined the Government of Alberta in 2011, bringing over ten years of experience with the Government of British Columbia in the areas of access and privacy, administrative financial policy, intergovernmental relations and agreement negotiation. Joanne has extensive experience in training and facilitation in access and privacy legislation, and has most recently co-led training sessions with elected officials and senior management within the Government of Alberta on records and information management and FOIP. She is also involved in the development of Alberta’s Expense Disclosure Policy, the redesign of Alberta’s Annual FOIP Report as well as other Policy and Governance initiatives supporting the province’s Accountability, Transparency and Transformation Mandate.
