Ian Fish – TELUS

Ian is an experienced strategist and change agent with over 30 years of experience working with Canadian healthcare organizations in a range of fields including health strategy and policy, information management and technology, complex program delivery, and analytics. A number of governments and health agencies have also relied on his skills as a strategy and policy consultant, leveraging his strengths in bridging the gap between business and technology to create new integrated care delivery and chronic disease management models. A strong leader and communicator who understands how to inspire and focus a diverse team of people towards a common set of objectives through perseverance and strong governance, while also encouraging innovation and creativity.

Ian holds a Master’s Degree in Community Health Sciences (Epidemiology). Prior to joining TELUS, he served five years in the academic environment doing community health research, followed by 10 years in senior administration in one of Canada’s largest acute care facilities, and five years as the CIO for one of Canada’s largest health regions. Ian also has12 years of experience working in the private sector as a senior healthcare consultant and a National Industry Director for a multinational software firm, gives Ian a unique perspective on how the public and private sectors can better work together to improve value to the Canadian health system.
