Geordie Cree is the Chief Information Security Officer for Inventure Solutions Inc., a Vancity Company. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Geordie provides strategic organizational leadership and is accountable for the information security program.Geordie is a senior Information Security professional with 15 years experience in Information Technology with the last 10 years leading Vancity’s Information Security program. He is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).During these past 10 years Geordie has implemented an effective risk based information security program that aligns to Vancity’s goals. As part of this role, he has developed a continuous improvement security testing program to identify, assess and remediate vulnerabilities in policy, process and technology.Security awareness is very important to Geordie and he has worked hard to make relevant information and tools available to Vancity members, employees and the public so that they can protect themselves and their financial information.In addition, a role that he really enjoys is that of IT business partner for Vancity’s Corporate Governance division. In this role, Geordie is very client focused and helps find practical IT solutions to enable the division to achieve its objectives.
