Erwin Martinez is the Chief Information Officer for British Columbia Ferries. Prior to this role Mr. Martinez was the CIO at Coast Capital Savings Credit Union in Surrey, BC. Prior to that Mr. Martinez had held CIO roles at several banks in California. He has a total of 20 years of experience in the CIO role. Earlier in his career, Mr. Martinez was with Accenture and Computer Sciences Corporation primarily in systems integration and large-scale program management. Mr. Martinez has broad range of skills and experiences including large scale program management, business re-engineering, disaster recovery, information security, PMO/EPMO, vendor management, enterprise content management, IT risk assessment, IT governance, IT transformation and IT strategic planning. Mr. Martinez oversaw an online banking project that was honored by Celent with one of the annual Model Bank awards. Mr. Martinez has published articles in publications such as The Sloan Management Review and The Project Management Journal. Mr. Martinez served on the Central 1 Technology Board Committee for 3 years, leaving that role as he has left the Credit Union business. Mr. Martinez holds a BA degree in Administrative Sciences from Yale University, and an ICD.D certificate from the SFU Beedie School of Business.
