Elizabeth Vander Beesen, has been with the British Columbia Provincial Government over 22 years. When government centralized Freedom of Information and Records Management in 2009, Elizabeth participated on the Business Transformation team responsible for the structure and set up of IAO, and developed and implemented improvements in order to streamline government’s performance. In her current role as IAO Director, Staff Administration, Elizabeth provides education and training relating to our obligations under FOIPPA for both internal IAO staff and for ministry clients within the provincial government. Prior to joining IAO, a large portion of Elizabeth’s career was with the Ministry of Forests where she was the Director, Information Operations where she was responsible for FOI Access, Privacy, Records Management, Litigation Services, Information Security and Information Technology Security.
