Detective Christina Witt, PhD, has twenty-three years police experience with the Calgary Police Service. Det. Witt has been a homicide detective since 2011, with prior experience in patrol, undercover drug officer, and child abuse investigator. Det. Witt has presented at numerous criminal justice conferences in Canada, Australia, and the USA. Det. Witt has also been teaching as a sessional instructor at Mount Royal University in the field of Economics, Justice, and Policy Studies, periodically since 2010. Det. Witt has a Master of Science Degree in Forensic and Legal Psychology and her PhD in Criminology, with a research focus on Best Practices of Homicide Investigations. Most recent research includes principal investigator in the 2020 – 2021 Alberta Homicide Study, and associate investigator in the 2021-2022 BC College of Policing Feasibility Study.
