Akshay is UBC’s inaugural Director, Research Security and joined the university in 2023. Prior to joining UBC, he spent over twelve years with the Government of Canada. He has a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from Simon Fraser University, where he focused on international security, trade, and Canadian policy issues.
