Don has been an IT professional for 21 years, the last 16 years with the public sector.
Don worked 10 years for the Ministry Children and Family Development before broadening his scope to include the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, to serve the Social Sector as Director, Security, Privacy and Compliance Management. In this role he utilised his 10 years experience as a security professional and 4 years as a privacy professional. Don is currently the Director, Information Security in the Information Security Branch of OCIO in the Ministry of Citizens’ Services.
Prior to making the career shift to IT professional, Don was a chef for 16 years specialising in soups and sauces. During this time, he attended George Brown College (Toronto) and Stratford Chef’s College.
