Dawn Lake currently serves as the Corporate Director of Information Access and Privacy for BC Clinical and Support Services (BCCSS). Dawn is an experienced leader in access, privacy and security issues involving personal and health information in complex health care environments that utilize integrated electronic records and information sharing practices. She has an evolved in her career from clinician as a nurse to being a practice leader for privacy policy and standards for audits, investigations and appropriate use of information for secondary purposes. With a career in healthcare spanning almost 25 years, Dawn’s previous roles include, Acting Chief Privacy Officer for Alberta Health Services (AHS) and Director of AHS’ Breach Investigations and Education Team. Dawn holds a Bachelor of Professional Arts, Policy Law and Governance from Athabasca University and a certified Privacy Professional.
