Dave Wattling

Dave is an IT veteran and an accomplished entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience. In addition to providing strategic and practical counsel, he oversees quality assurance for client engagements. He brings strong leadership and business development skills to the Transformation Services team, which provides health facilities with the qualified staff and the services they need to maximize their investment in advanced information management systems. Mr. Wattling also leads business development and sales for TELUS’ broad interests in the health sector. Working with the various divisions of TELUS and with third-party partners, he assembles and brings innovative and large-scale technological solutions to clients in Canada, the US and internationally. Before joining TELUS, Dave was the co-founder and managing partner of a niche healthcare management consultancy that employed 200 professionals across Canada, the US and internationally. Over the 20 years leading up that that venture, Dave built a number of successful businesses focused on healthcare. His truly rich professional background includes experience in software and services, small and large businesses, and companies in North America and Europe. Dave is an award-winning management consultant with extensive healthcare expertise. He is the founding chair of ITAC-Health, the Canadian trade association of ICT firms actively involved in the healthcare sector, and the Associate Editor of Healthcare Information Management & Communications Canada. Dave holds the Certified Management Consultant, Information Systems Professional and ICD Certified Director designations. In 2012, Dave was conferred with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for his leadership in mobilizing the healthcare ICT industry and the creation of ITAC Health. Also in 2012, Dave was awarded with ITAC’s Volunteer of the Year Award and the ITAC Health Chairman’s Award of Excellence.
