Dave Parker
Executive Director, Strategic Alignment, Health Shared Services BC
Dave has worked in the Telecommunications Industry for the past thirty years. He started his career as a Field Engineer working for Data General servicing computer systems throughout BC. He then went on to work in Health Care IT, with a focus on communications infrastructure and networking services. In 2001 he was appointed Director, Tech Services for Vancouver Coastal Health and was tasked with the regionalization of technology services throughout the newly formed health authority. Since that time Dave has held numerous positions working in the Vancouver Coastal Health, Providence Health Care and most recently with Health Shared Service’s BC, a division of the Provincial Health Service Authority. In 2004, Dave was seconded to represent the Health Authorities on the Network BC project team. This would be the first of several secondments working at the provincial level. In his current position as Executive Director, Strategic Alignment, Dave is working within the Strategic Partnership’s Office (SPO) a division of the Provincial Government’s Office of the CIO. This office oversees the development of a policy and governance framework for strategic deals within government and the Broader Public Sector. SPO is also responsible for implementing a capacity building and knowledge management program for the strategic partnerships portfolio.
