Caner Budakoglu
Director of Information Management, Security & Privacy, Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure, Province of BC
Caner “Jenner” Budakoglu is the Director of Information Management, Security and Privacy in the Information Management Branch at the Ministry of Transportation and serves as the Ministry’s Privacy Officer.
Caner has been working in the BC Public Service for more than 10 years in progressively more responsible information security roles at the Ministry of Justice, Office of the Chief Information Officer and Ministries of Community, Sport and Cultural Development and Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training.
After his undergraduate degree at the University of Istanbul in Electronics Engineering, Caner completed a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Victoria, with an emphasis on wireless network security.
Caner holds a number of privacy and security certifications and is a Professional Engineer in BC. He has served as the President of ISACA’s Victoria Chapter. He has also published technical papers in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers conferences.
