Bob Rauscher

Vice President, Western Canada, MEDEC

Bob has 30 years of health care experience that spans across a number of program and policy areas in both the public and private health sectors.

Within the public sector, his career started as a paramedic before moving to Manitoba Health where he took on a number of roles with escalating responsibilities to include management of the provincial emergency services, participating in the development of the regional health authorities, facilitating the transition of the Department of Health to the Ministry of Health, working to create the first Manitoba Health “business plan”, concluding as the Senior Policy Advisor to a Manitoba Minister of Health where he managed issues that transcended across all aspects of health care.

Leaving the public sector, Bob moved into the private health sector with an innovative pharmaceutical company and took on a number of portfolios including government affairs & policy, organizational development, performance management and special projects. The last three years within this sector was spent developing and implementing private-public partnerships launching primary care projects with regional health authorities in British Columbia that proved highly successful.

In 2008, Bob launched his own consulting company, Acceleras Consulting Inc and Adroitness Consulting Group in 2015, through which he has been supporting the medical technology industry as MEDEC’s vice-president in Western Canada over the last 6 years. Bob leads MEDEC’s national project looking to define the value of medical technologies within the Canadian health system.
