Ali Mussavi

Ali Mussavi is the Executive Director for Data Architecture and Governance at Provincial Health Services Authority, where he has worked since 2006. He is a senior technology leader with demonstrated, in-depth knowledge of the British Columbia and Canadian healthcare systems with over 16 years of experience in leadership roles within data analytics including strategy formulation, solution definition, practice building and delivery.
Ali has a track record of leading cross-functional teams of data engineers, architects, and data scientists that have successfully delivered complex programs of work with limited resources and funding. By formulating an analytics vision, implementing best practices, and designing robust solutions he has successfully enabled teams that are sustainable, scalable and promote improvement and growth.
Ali is currently a Ph.D. Candidate of Health Information Science at University of Victoria. He has completed his Master of Health Administration from the University of British Columbia and holds a Medical Doctorate (MD) degree from Iran. He has authored scientific articles focusing on data linkage, data warehousing, and clinical decision support. Combining his medical and health informatics domain knowledge as well as his extensive technology skills in all areas of health analytics, Ali is leading and scaling-up high calibre teams that ultimately could help improve and positively impact patient care and health services in BC.
