Scott Wilson

Patient Advisor

Scott made his first appearance in Norfolk, VA, USA on August 17, 1951. He grew up in the Washington, D.C area and attended the Juilliard School in New York City from 1969-73, receiving his Bachelor of Music, French Horn, Cum Laude.

Scott joined the Horn section of the Toronto Symphony in 1973 and it was there onstage at Massey Hall that he met the love of his life, Audrey King, in the Cello section. Two children, Anna and Matthew, arrived in 1982 and 1985, respectively.

During the ‘90’s Scott built and sold du Chasse Wines & Spirits, an importing agency. In 1996 he was diagnosed with Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy. A few years later he changed roles in the TSO, becoming Director of Operations there.

In 2011 Audrey and Scott moved to Kelowna to take up the roles of General Manager and Principal Cello for the Okanagan Symphony. Scott tired of the management side of the music business in 2014 and made a comeback on the horn after a 9-year absence. This was surprisingly successful and he still serves as Principal Horn now.

Much befell the couple in 2018, and that is the story Scott will impart at the conference.
