David Etue

VP of Corporate Development Strategy, SafeNet Inc.

David Etue is vice president of corporate development strategy at SafeNet, where he is responsible for SafeNet’s strategic decisions regarding product and solution partnerships, as well as mergers and acquisitions. David is also the Washington Relations Officer for the Cyber Security Forum Initiative (CSFI), and a faculty member with IANS. The CSFI role is a volunteer part-time position to help advance protection of critical civilian networks against cyber warfare-related activities, where David is responsible for maintaining the public image of CSFI and its divisions in the Washington D.C area. At IANS, a leading provider of in-depth security insights, David is a part-time faculty member providing subject matter expertise on information protection, security strategy, and network security to provide actionable advice to information security, risk management, and compliance executives. Prior to joining SafeNet, David was the cyber security practice lead at management consultancy PRTM, which was acquired by PwC during his tenure (becoming PwC’s PRTM Management Consulting). At PRTM/PwC, David consulted with practitioners and suppliers focused on improving cyber security, information security and information assurance programs. Specific projects including go-to-market strategy for cyber offerings; cyber supply chain integrity; and secure cloud strategies. Prior to PRTM, David was Vice President of Products and Markets at Fidelis Security Systems, which was acquired by General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems in August 2012. At Fidelis, he provided strategic leadership for product management and product marketing for the next generation network security solution, the Fidelis Extrusion Prevention System®. Additionally he delivered public thought leadership on issues including cyber defense, privacy, and data protection for both commercial and government sectors. David was one of the early employees of the company, joining as Director of Marketing in 2005. During his time with the company, Fidelis experienced significant growth and underwent a global expansion from small a direct sales force to an international sales and channel presence. Also during this time, Fidelis XPS™ won multiple awards and recognition from leading publications including Network World, SC Magazine, Frost and Sullivan, Government Computer News and Government Security News. David also brings years of experience at early-stage and mature companies. Prior to Fidelis, he was Vice President of Marketing at Celcorp and led product management for a variety of technology products and services at Global eXchange Services (GXS). Before his tenure with GXS, Mr. Etue led General Electric’s global computer security program. He was a member of the GE Information Management Council, and was an original member of GE’s Global E-Commerce team, which was responsible for development of the company’s e-business strategy. Mr. Etue originally joined GE on the IM Leadership Program, and held various positions in technology strategy and operations. Mr. Etue is a Certified Information Privacy Professional holding both the CIPP and CIPP/G government privacy extension, and a Certified CISO. David completed GE’s Six Sigma Black Belt Training and is Green Belt Certified. He is also trained in the Pragmatic Marketing Framework. David also holds a Top Secret security clearance. Mr. Etue has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Delaware.
