Stan Crosley is the principal of Crosley Law Offices, LLC and is the former Chief Privacy Officer at Eli Lilly and Company, served as the Co-Chair of the Privacy and Security Workgroup for HHS/ONC, the Co-Chair of the Research Committee for C-Change, and is a former board member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Stan has helped direct the Indiana University Center for Law, Ethics, and Applied Research in Health Information (CLEAR) and oversees multi-stakeholder initiatives designed to create applied, real world approaches to significant data collection, data protection and data use and ethics issues. Stan is also a Senior Strategist at the Information Accountability Foundation, a Senior Fellow at the Future of Privacy Forum, and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Maurer School of Law, Indiana University.
Stan has served on non-profit boards, state and federal advisory boards, and private enterprise advisory boards related to digital health, technology, and data, including The Privacy Projects, the International Pharmaceutical Privacy Consortium, the Indiana Health Informatics Technology, Inc., the Institutes of Medicine, “HIPAA and Research” Workgroup, and the Brookings Institute workgroup providing guidance on the FDA’s Sentinel project. In his privacy and data strategy practice, Stan is fortunate enough to have clients that are among the largest and most successful technology, biotech, biopharma, and medical device companies in the world, including Apple, Eli Lilly and Company, Pfizer, Allergan/AbbVie, Amgen, Highmark Health, Walgreens Boots Alliance, Roche Diagnostics, Regeneron, Edwards Life Sciences, Revance Therapeutics, Elanco Animal Health, CoreLogic, and Citrix. Stan is also a frequent speaker internationally on topics of privacy, data strategy, and data governance and has appeared in print and broadcast media including CNN and Fast Company.
