Shelley Gilberg

Vice President and Partner, BC Public Sector & Canadian Healthcare Leader, IBM Canada

Shelley has been with IBM since 2008. As a Vice President in IBM Global Business Services, she has overall responsibility for IBM’s BC Public Sector Services portfolio and is the Canadian leader for Healthcare.

Shelley has over 20 years experience in public, private and non-governmental organizations. Her career started in social work and corrections leading to non-governmental organization executive roles, and eventually led to a management consulting practice, CFO roles, negotiation leadership roles, and a career as a senior public servant.

Prior to joining IBM Shelley was a senior executive in the BC Government in a number of strategic and operational senior executive portfolios. These included Core Review, Strategic X-Gov’t Initiatives, Finance, Social Services, Crown Corporations, Shared Services, and Economic Development and Trade.

She has delivered results in practitioner and executive roles in Business Transformation, Finance, Labour Relations, Consulting, Public Policy, and Service Delivery in both the private and public sector across a variety of services and businesses.

Education:
Shelley holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Queen’s University and is a Certified Professional Accountant.

Volunteer and Community Experience:
Shelley has served on a variety of not for profit and corporate boards and volunteers in community initiatives. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the BC Assessment Authority, a Crown Corporation, and on the BC Chapter Board for Canadian Women in Technology. She is active mentor within IBM, industry, UBC School of Business, and her communities of interest.
