Michael Garvin has over 20 years experience in information security and compliance, and IT architecture, administration, and management. He has been with Symantec since 2006 and is currently in Cyber Security Services (CSS). His responsibilities include live-fire cyber security training, skills development, and practice through cyber exercises and ranges, Symantec’s CyberWar Games and Cyber Readiness Challenge, and product management in related areas. Prior to his current role Michael was a member of the Security Advisory Services practice responsible for delivering assessment services for Fortune 500 companies, higher education, and state government addressing business-aligned audit, gap analysis, and remediation planning needs. He has also worked architecting and operating solutions at service providers, in pre-sales systems engineering for Sun Microsystems, with high-performance and Grid computing, and at institutions within the University of North Carolina system. Michael holds the CISSP, CGEIT, and CISM certifications.
