Marc Rowley – VISS25
Assistant Area Port Director, U.S. Customs and Border Protection
Mr. Marc Rowley reported for duty as the Assistant Area Port Director on March 28, 2021. As an Assistant Port Director, Mr. Rowley is charged with management and oversight of operations at Vancouver International Airport, Canada Place Cruise Terminal, and the Pacific Central Amtrak Station. As an Assistant Port Director, he also supports ferry operations in Victoria.
Mr. Rowley has over 30 years of federal law enforcement experience, starting as an Immigration Inspector with the former U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) in 1996 at the Area Port of Blaine. In 1998, Mr. Rowley gained valuable experience within the preclearance environment with a tour of duty in Vancouver, BC Canada as a front-line officer. In 2000, he transferred to the Las Vegas International Airport where he served on the passenger analysis team, roving team and as the criminal prosecutions officer. In 2002, Mr. Rowley was promoted to Supervisor at the Port of Blaine. In 2003, he was promoted to Chief CBP Officer at the Port of Blaine. In 2013 Mr. Rowley became a Chief CBP Officer at Vancouver Preclearance where he oversaw Tactical Operations. In 2017, Mr. Rowley transferred to the Seattle Field Office as the Recruiter in Charge. Lastly, in 2020, Mr. Rowley served as a Watch Commander at the Area Port of Blaine. Throughout his career he has worked in land, air and sea environments on both permanent and temporary assignments. Additionally, he has completed numerous details to HQ providing guidance and direction on various projects with national impact.
Mr. Rowley’s extensive leadership experience in a multitude of environments provides him with the ability to confidently address today’s challenges.
