Kristen McKeracher

Communications Director, PMI Vancouver Island Chapter

Kristen is currently a Project Manager for BC Transit in Fixed Asset Construction.

Kristen also currently serves as Communications on the Executive Committee for the Vancouver Island Construction Association’s Under40 Network (VICA U40). In years previous, she held the positions of Events Director and Secretary. VICA U40 provides networking and professional development opportunities for future executives in construction.

In addition to the above, Kristen is also a volunteer gardener with Capital City Volunteers which provides services to seniors and adults with disabilities that allows them to maintain their independence and continue living in their own homes as long as possible.

Kristen began her career in the construction industry working for KONE Elevators, a global elevator company. She worked in roles of increasing responsibility until establishing a new position in Victoria’s branch office for a New Construction Sales Associate and subsequently grew that role to Project Manager. During her 7 years at KONE, she oversaw the installation of elevators in newly constructed buildings on Vancouver Island in conjunction with the installation team to ensure her projects were delivered on time and within budget.

Kristen shifted to BC Transit in April 2016 where she worked as a Project Manager in Fleet Engineering leading projects that introduced new transportation technologies in communities throughout BC.  In February 2017, Kristen transitioned to a new position at BC Transit as a Project Manager in the Fixed Asset Construction Division.  She is leading projects constructing and maintaining transit facilities around the province.

Kristen earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree from McMaster University with a double major in English and Sociology, holds a Graduate Certificate in Sport and Event Marketing from George Brown College and a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Royal Roads University. Kristen earned her PMP certification in October 2015.
