Greg Coughlin

Director, Security Business Unit IBM Canada Ltd.

Greg is responsible for the strategic direction, client relationships and operational management of IBM’s Security business in Canada. In this capacity, Greg holds accountability for the overall signings, revenue, profit and client satisfaction of IBM’s market leading Security products, services and solutions. His team of over 200 Canadian professionals are responsible for selling, supporting and delivering Security software, systems, consulting and managed services to clients across the country.

Greg has more than seventeen years of sales, executive and management experience with the IBM Corporation. In his current capacity he serves as a Senior Leader in both the Canadian and North American Management teams. Greg’s experience includes roles which have focused on business development, delivery and client satisfaction across a variety of industries, in a number of different professional capacities. Selected prior Executive responsibilities have included: managing IBM’s overall relationship with a Large Canadian Telecommunications Client; the Shared Services Leader for IBM’s Canadian Global Technology Services business; and, the Chief of Staff for IBM’s General Manager of Global Technology Services North America. Greg was also part of the team that managed IBM’s relationship with the Government of Ontario for five years.

Greg is active in his community and is currently a member of the board for ITAC’s Ontario Chapter.

Greg holds an Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queens University and has received IBM Management training, including IBM’s Client Executive certification from the Harvard Business School. He has also completed an IBM Smarter Cities Challenge in Malaga, Spain, which focused on stimulating entrepreneurship and economic development for that region.

Greg is married with a daughter and two sons and lives in Toronto, Ontario.
