Dave Wattling
Vice-President and General Manager, Enterprise Solutions, TELUS
Dave leads the Enterprise Solutions line of business that supports health authorities, hospitals and government with solutions such as Electronic Health Records, Personal Health Records, eScheduling, eReferral and Home Health Monitoring. In this capacity, he assembles innovative, scalable solutions to meet the growing needs of clients across Canada. He is also responsible for TELUS Sourcing Solutions Inc. (TSSI) that provides staffing, payroll and related management applications to public sector organizations, including healthcare and education.
Dave is an IT veteran, accomplished entrepreneur and award-winning management consultant with extensive healthcare expertise. He brings over 30 years of international experience spanning software and services. Before joining TELUS, Dave was the co-founder and managing partner of a global healthcare management consultancy that employed 200 professionals. Prior to that, he built a number of successful businesses focused on healthcare.
Dave is the founding chair of ITAC-Health, the Canadian association of information and communications technology (ICT) firms actively involved in the healthcare sector. He is also the Associate Editor of Healthcare Information Management & Communications Canada. Dave currently sits on the Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation board, supporting the health of his community.
Dave holds the Certified Management Consultant, Information Systems Professional and ICD Certified Director designations. In 2012, he received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for his leadership in mobilizing the healthcare ICT industry and the creation of ITAC Health. He also received ITAC’s 2012 Volunteer of the Year Award and the ITAC Health Chairman’s Award of Excellence.
