DAN RUCH, MBA, ICD.D is Partner at Ruch & Associates Inc., providing advisory and consulting services to financial institutions in the areas of governance, risk, and compliance. He is the former Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Privacy Officer at Equitable Bank and, prior to that at ResMor Trust. In these roles, Dan was responsible for all aspects of compliance, including privacy & data protection, anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing, regulatory compliance management, consumer disclosures, complaint management, whistleblower program, as well as the ombudsman role. Dan previously served as Vice President, Privacy at CIBC where he designed, built and implemented the bank’s global Privacy Office.
With over 25 years of both consulting and senior corporate experience, Mr. Ruch brings a practical approach to both privacy & data protection, and regulatory compliance matters, balancing the changing needs of business requirements with the evolving regulatory obligations in an increasingly complex global marketplace.
Dan has extensive experience working with boards of directors, regulators and senior executives both as an executive in corporations and as a management consultant providing advisory services to companies. Mr. Ruch currently sits on the board of Epilepsy Toronto. He has spoken at various industry conferences on privacy & data protection, anti-money laundering, and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Ruch holds a Masters in Business Administration from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from York University. In addition, Dan completed the Directors Education Program at Rotman School of Business and has received the corporate directors’ designation ICD.D.
