Cheryl Naundorf

Director, Policy and Governance, Service Alberta

Cheryl Naundorf is the Director of the Policy and Governance Branch in Service Alberta. Her branch administers Alberta’s access and privacy legislation, manages departmental FOIP requests, coordinates the development of strategic policy and legislative projects for Service Alberta including maintaining the department’s over 80 acts and 30 regulations, and implements the Foreign Ownership of Land Regulations. With experience at both federal and provincial levels of government, Cheryl’s expertise ranges from speech writing and research, business planning and performance measurement, to providing strategic advice to elected officials and senior management within Government. A priority for Policy and Governance is to support the advancement of Service Alberta’s Accountability, Transparency and Transformation Mandate which will change the way government does business with Albertans. This work includes the recent passing of the Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblower Protection) Act and preparation of the supporting regulations, involvement in Alberta’s Expense Disclosure Policy, collaboration in developing an Open Government Strategy, and leading a review of the province’s FOIP Act.
