Chad Gray

Principal, Cybersecurity and Privacy, PwC

Chad Gray is a Principal in our Cybersecurity and Privacy Team, Integration and Operations, with expertise as an Operational Technology (OT)/Internet of Things (IoT) security leader. He is based in McLean, Virginia as part of the Mid-Atlantic team. He serves as the A&D Subsector Champion, with several A&D clients.

Chad graduated from the United States Naval Academy, class of 1993, with a degree in General Science. He specialized in Navy Cryptology and was an Information Warfare Officer. He helped to pioneer a new field of intelligence collection known as Digital Network Intelligence at the National Security Agency. Chad ultimately retired from the Naval Reserves as a Lieutenant Commander.

In 2004, he joined Booz Allen Hamilton. He served as the Technical Director and Deputy Program Manager for the SIGINT Technical Analysis (STA) Team for Booz Allen, leading a multi-disciplined technical team of over 600 people. He helped establish the Cyber Solutions Network for Booz Allen, as well as creating the Firm’s Cyber Boot camp, which graduated over 200 professionals. In 2016, Chad was promoted to Vice President within Booz Allen Hamilton’s Cyber and Engineering group, and led the Firm’s “Big Bet” for securing Operation technology (OT). He founded Booz Allen Dark Labs, a Cyber R&D incubator that leverages top offensive cyber talent from the Intelligence Community, and develops innovative defensive solutions for clients. He led the team to create numerous “firsts” for Booz Allen, including an Advanced Threat Hunting platform, an OT monitoring capability, an automated vulnerability discovery capability, and he co-authored/developed the first blockchain-enabled network security solution (patent pending).

Chad is a husband, and father of two boys, Wyatt (14) and Levi (9). He and his wife Natalie Gray will be celebrating 25 years of marriage this coming March.
