Ainslie Avery has worked with the Privacy Investigations and Compliance Unit since 2013, and has almost ten years of experience with various provincial government agencies and ministries. Ainslie’s primary responsibilities include managing complex, high profile privacy breach and privacy complaint investigations, including investigations into inappropriate conduct with regard to information management, as well as training provincial Privacy Investigators and government staff in privacy incident response and management. Ainslie’s first exposure to privacy and information management came during an internship with the Resettlement Legal Aid Project in Cairo, Egypt, in which the protection of privacy and the management of information was essential to protecting the health and safety of vulnerable refugees. Ainslie holds an MA from the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
