9:00am - 9:45am Virtual

Session 1: Biomedical Devices and Modern Security

Even as they help save lives, biomedical devices can provide a vector into critical and sensitive systems. The fact that these devices are made to interact with the human body means that they are held to very high technological standards with a goal of as little change as possible to ensure that stability. Modern cybersecurity threats and mitigations, on the other hand, rely on constant updating and change. This session will explore the technological and human factors involved in biomedical device cybersecurity.

9:45am - 10:10am Virtual

Session 2: Keynote by Medigate: Security in Healthcare is Different, How to Manage Cybersecurity and Information Risk in a Clinical Environment

This session will provide an overview of network connected devices in a Clinical Environment that include traditional IT devices, IoT devices and the connected medical devices that provide patient care. Session will focus on some of the unique challenges that connected Medical devices pose where patient risk always outweighs cyber risk, the OEM patching challenge and strategies to assess risk and provide approaches to mitigate risk.
