Session 1 - Panel Discussion: Emerging Cybersecurity Trends in Retail

The past year has turned the retail industry on its head. Organizations have accelerated their digital transformation initiatives and shifted focus to e-commerce. A fantastic panel made up of industry experts from Security, Privacy, & E-Commerce will get together to discuss the most pressing topics affecting retailers today. Some of the topics include: accelerating the shift to e-commerce, emerging customer data privacy legislation, supporting flexible work styles, and new PCI standards.

2:40-3:25pm PST

Session 2 - Fireside Chat: Managing Cyber Risk in Retail Effectively with Save On Foods

The Cybersecurity discussion continues to get attention at the most senior level at most retailers, Save-On-Foods included. Recent security events in our region (e.g. Translink) have heightened executive concerns and raises questions about similar risks to Save-On-Foods. As an essential service, grocers have unique challenges to keep stores open and protect their customers. We will examine these challenges and present options for strategies to mitigate cyber risk to the business.

3:25-3:30pm PST

3:30-4:00pm PST

Session 3 - Intelligence Briefing: Supply Chain Compromise: How Threat Actors Leverage Trusted Relationships to Attack Retailers

The threat of supply chain compromise represents a particularly nefarious issue for defenders, as it involves the compromise of a trusted third party through which the threat actor then subsequently compromises additional victims. To complicate things even more, the subsequent victims of these supply chain attacks are often unaware that they have been attacked due to the trusted nature of the relationship between the 3rd party victim and the supplier.

This brief will discuss CrowdStrike’s most current understanding of supply chain threats, associated infrastructure and capabilities, and what retailers can do to defend themselves in the face of these advanced attacks.
