Code of Conduct – Victoria International Privacy & Security Summit
The Victoria International Privacy & Security Summit and its organizers are dedicated to providing an inclusive and harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, country of origin, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference delegates in any form. Conference delegates violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference, without a refund, at the discretion of the conference organizers. If a delegate engages in harassing behaviour, event organizers retain the right to take any action to keep the event a welcoming environment for all delegates. This includes warning the offender or expulsion from the conference. We expect delegates to follow these rules at all event venues and event-related social activities.
If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it to conference organizers as soon as possible.
If you are in an unsafe situation, please call 911.
If you feel you are being harassed you can make a personal report by:
- Visiting the Victoria room or Registration Desk on level one of the Victoria Conference Centre. A member of the conference staff will be notified and can assist you.
- Calling 1011 on any white house phone in the Victoria Conference Centre. This phone will connect you with Victoria Conference Centre staff who will ensure a conference staff member meets you immediately.
- Calling or messaging this phone number: (250) 881-4045. This phone number will be continuously monitored for the duration of the event.
- Emailing this conference email info@rebootcommunications.com.
When taking a personal report, our staff will ensure you cannot be overheard. They may involve other event staff to ensure your report is managed properly. Once safe, we’ll ask you to tell us about what happened.
Our team will be happy to help you contact hotel/venue security, local law enforcement, local support services, provide escorts, or otherwise assist you to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your attendance.
